I just love ragtime weddings.
A society bride spent months shopping for her attire and accessories. The gowns are still high waised and were made out of shimmering silk or satin, and had long flowing trains. The bride also wore a gift from the groom such  as a piece of jewelry which would be considered as  "something new"
The flowers usually represented the groom initials (ex: Roses Orchids, Baby’s Breath=Rob). Bouquets also included: orange blossoms symbolizing that the couple would have many kids. To learn more about 1910's weddings click here.
1910's swimwear is very similar to Victorian styles. They were still made out of the heavy cotton and included a swim cap, shirt, bloomers and a small dress. The shirt is sleeveless, and the dress was worn over bloomers and ladies sometimes wore laced footwear to protect their feet. Sometimes when the cotton became wet it was really heavy and it was hard to swim in they even held onto ropes so they would not be carried away by the tides. Athletic girls and women used to wear bloomers, or full pants gathered at the knee. The bloomers allowed more freedom of movement but also showed a shocking bit of a ladies booted ankle. But in 1910's
