When I look into the eyes of my sisters,
Ann Johnson
I'm looking deep into our innermost being.
I feel the myriad of emotions
that our eyes cannot hide.
I see the pain of our past,
the hope for our future,
loves lost, loves gained,
and pains for our children
that began in the womb.
Love for our children that
lived in the hearts
of our mothers inner soul.
I see the joys of life,
the sorrows of life,
that we carry like a mantle
to shield us from life's cold.
In the eyes of my sisters,
it is easy to behold that
we live with a knowledge
that for us things are different
an no one, no not a soul,
can comprehend what one sister
sees when she acknowledges the
eyes of another sisters soul.
