Kebawah Duli Yang Maha Mulia Paduka Seri Baginda Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Al-Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Almarhum Sultan Omar Ali Saifuddien Sa'adul Khairi Waddien, GCMG was born on 15/07/1946 in Brunei Town (Bandar Seri Begawan). He is the 29th Sultan of Brunei and also the eldest son of the late Omar Ali Saifuddin Sa'adul Khairi Waddien, the previous sultan. He was installed as Sultan on 05/10/1967, after his father abdicated voluntarily. The Sultan is the Head of State and the Prime Minister of the country. In addition to that he also holds the portfolios of Finance and Defence. | |||
