Elizabeth II (Elizabeth Alexandra Mary Windsor) was born on 21/04/1926 at 17 Bruton Street, in Mayfair, London. She was the eldest daughter of Prince Albert, Duke of York (later King George VI) and The Duchess of York (née Lady Elizabeth Bowes-Lyon, later Queen Elizabeth). Elizabeth II has reigned since 06/02/1952 following the death of her father King George VI of lung cancer. Apart from the United Kingdom, Elizabeth II is also Queen of 15 other Commonwealth nations around the world, including Australia, Canada, New Zealand and Papua New Guinea. | |||
