Name: Relena Darlian/Peacecraft

Gundam: *rolls eyes* Like she could ever pilot a gundam.

Nickname: None

Age: 15

Nationality: European

Job: Queen of the World, Princess of the Sanq Kingdom, and Vice Foreign Minister

Family: Vice Foreign Minister Darlian was her adoptive father, and Zechs is her brother.

Friends: Heero and her fanclub.

Abilities: Sticking by her beliefs no matter what. (Note: This isn't necessarily a good thing).

Random babbling: Okay, strait to the point: I do not like Relena. Not at all. Her character improves by the end of the series a little and by the end of Endless Waltz she improves quite a bit more, but I still didn't like her, even then. So get ready for a bit of a rant.
She seems relatively normal at first... and then she starts stalking Heero. The boy threatened to kill her, even tried to kill her, did a lot of other things that could have been subtle hints to leave him alone, and yet she didn't. She didn't even have a reason for liking him, she just had this illogical, unshakeable schoolgirl crush on him!
Plus, there's her fanclub. This just got on my nerves... I've been in high school, the fan club was the least realistic part of the whole series. No cliches of teenage girls spend all of their time worshiping one person the way those girls do Relena. That just really got on my nerves.
There was a moment when Relena almost got my respect, when she tried to kill Lady Une... and then she missed from no more than ten feet away! The second I realized she had missed at so close a range... my respect for her went back to its original level, 0.
Also, there was the fact that she stuck by her ideals no matter how illogical they were. Example: Surrendering when the Sanq Kingdom is attacked. I really hated her for that. The hope people had for peace was placed in that one kingdom, and she destroyed it by surrendering without even trying to fight back. She says people could be hurt by fighting? What about the innocent civilians in the town who had no one to defend them? Do they mean nothing to her? As if all that wasn't enough, she joined the very people who were causing the war after she surrendered!! I didn't think my respect for her could get any lower than in that episode. The only moment in the entire series when Relena did anything I liked, was in the last episode when she tore up the card Heero gave her.
As for Endless Waltz? Well... she didn't improve much there in my eyes either. The movie did make her a little more respectable, but her personality continually grates on my nerves. I'll give her credit for finally realizing that peace has to be earned, but that's all I'll say for her (and did it really have to take 49 episodes and an entire movie before she finally figured that out?). I have to rant about how she treated Mariemaia now. :) First off, Mariemaia isn't even ten years old yet, she's just a kid doing as her grandfather tells her. When Heero attacks the fortress, Relena turns to Mariemaia and says in this taunting, belligerant, 'I'm-glad-you're-suffering' voice, "Are you scared, Mariemaia". Now you just do not say something like that in that tone of voice to a misguided little girl! It was wrong of Relena to do so, even if she had been kidnapped by Mariemaia! Then, as if that wasn't enough, Relena made me even more angry. Mariemaia was walking towards the front of the room, obviously confused and frightened chanting, "I will be victorious" when Lady Une stepped forward and said "Forgive me" with the intention of slapping her ... but before she could, Relena struck Mariemaia and said (in that same superior, malitious, gloating voice) "I hope you've opened your eyes, Mariemaia." I didn't respect Relena before then, I plain disliked her after she said that. First off, who is Relena to say that? Mariemaia did have bad ideas, but she is just a child. Her grandfather, someone she should have been able to trust, told her that she could carry out her father's ideals by doing something, and so she did. Relena was blinded by her ideas through the entire series AND the movie. Sure, she wasn't an adult, but she was old enough to know right from wrong, to see the truth, and to have some common sense. Okay, she might have had pressure because she was a Peacecraft when she made decisions, but she didn't have someone telling her what to do, she made the decisions on her own. Relena saying that to Mariemaia just made Relena a hypocrite. Second, if Lady Une had slapped Mariemaia, I wouldn't have thought twice. Lady Une loved Treize, and that love was transferred to his daughter. (Notice she takes care of Mariemaia at the end of the movie.) If Lady Une had slapped Mariemaia, it would have been entirely differend than when Relena did so out of malice and anger.
Anyway, that is my insight on Relena's character. It was really one sided, but that's just because I can't think of any reasons to respect Relena.

"Heero! I am right over here so come and kill me!" -Relena, yelling off the edge of a cliff while Heero is probably thousands of miles away. (Yes Heero, please do!!)

Relena is clinging to Heero pretty bad in this picture, notice how annoyed the poor guy looks? But Duo looks good. hehe.
