Heaven In Your Eyes "Mom, i'm going to the concert, see ya later!" "Alright honey, have fun." Samantha walked out of her house, a sudden feeling of excitement taking over her body. She let out a slight scream of happiness as she sat down in her brand-new car. She was heading to a Backstreet Boys concert, her favorite group of all-time. Putting on the radio and popping in her tape, she sang along, getting hyped for what would be the best night of her life - or so she thought. Arriving at the venue, she met up with some of her friends she had met over the internet. They talked and became even closer in person, before finally taking their seats in the front row. Sam had noticed the others looking at her strangely but paid no attention, and before they knew it the Backstreet Boys were dancing across the stage. As the concert progressed, Sam felt increasing dizziness. She just couldn't shake the feeling that she was spinning. She sat down in her chair, still able to see clearly, when memories of the last 3 years flashed through her head. At 15, Samantha developed anorexia. Unhappy with herself, she seldomly ate, and what she did, wound up purged into the toilet. The music of the Backstreet Boys kept her going, and after dropping from 180lbs. to 100lbs in those 3 years, she was finally happy. Her mother was worried that her daughter was too thin, but at 5'3", her doctor felt it was normal to be at that weight, as did Sam. She wanted to impress her dream-man, Nick Carter. Before this concert, she hadn't eaten for 3 days. She weight 86lbs, and looked extremely emaciated. That's why they were looking at her funny. At that point, she was used to dizziness. But this time it was unbearable... Samantha snapped back into reality as the intoduction to her favorite song came on: Heaven In Your Eyes. Nick's solo. This was her chance to catch his eye. She forced herself back up, leaning against the railing, watching her 'soul-mate' sing a song seemingly-aimed for her... Her bright blue eyes shimmered in the light from the stage. Nick saw them from the back-part of the stage. He couldn't make out her face, but the eyes that stared at him had him intrigued. He just stood there, looking out into the crowd but singing to her. He thought it was impossible to love someone without knowing them, but those eyes - there was something in them that touched him deeply. They reminded him of a friend he had, a crush actually, long ago back in Jamestown. 'Samantha?' he thought to himself. She seemed so much like his friend, but it couldn't be her. That was over 9 years ago, and surely she would've either moved or changed. Nick came down and stood in the center of the stage. Belting out the tune, he looked around the front few rows, inspecting the girls, looking for the girl he had seen before.. His eyes laid on Samantha... "Cuz I see.... oh my god". He panicked and jumped off the stage, as security ran to the front row to help Nick. "Samantha? oh God Samantha, is that you?" he said, in a fit of tears. A crowd of girls had surrounded them. Though the majority of them were watching in awe, some disrespectful teenyboppers actually tried to touch Nick. that annoyed him... She couldn't say anything. She was just too weak. Her lips curled into a small smile, as she slowly closed her eyes... Samantha died later that night, at the hospital, with the Backstreet Boys at her side. she was buried with her posters and CD's; the Backstreet Boys attended her funeral. Nick remembered the nights before... The shining eyes he had seen and loved, even in such pain, her eyes were beautiful to him. He cried that day, for he'd never see those eyes again... |
