INDONESIA : Vice president visits detained militia leader
Indonesia's Vice President Hamzah Haz has denied striking a deal with the detained
leader of the militant islamic group, Lashkar Jihad. Hamzah Haz visited Jaffar Umar
Thalib, head of the Laskar Jihad, in his cell at national police headquarters in Jakarta.
Mr Thalib was arrested for allegedly inciting a massacre of Christian villagers in the
Maluku islands.
