Consular in Constantinople in 517.  Here the Consul is shown sitting upon the Curule Chair. In his hand He hods the Mappa Cercensis. The head of the Emperor and his wife, Ariadne, are in Medallions on the posts of both chairs.  Under The Consular are scenes of circus activity.

Consular Diptych of Justinius
The consul in Constantinople in 540. This is the earliest dated monument with
The representation of the bearded Christ. Christ is shown on both leafs of the diptych. In between the images of Justinian and his wife Theodora. In the center of the two leafs Justinian Is depicted holding the Consul sceptre.  The Small figures at the bottom of the ivory are pouring Out money, this is symbolizing the generosity of the Consular.
