I
stayed in Barstow with a few other Corps members for about 2 weeks. We installed
"swamp coolers" in low income homes as well as high efficiency lighting.
(a swamp cooler is almost like an air conditioner. It's that box on the roof
of the C.C.C. house in the photo.
