We ended the month of May with a Memorial Day Weekend camping trip to Sequoia National Park. We camped in Visalia and enjoyed some much needed rest and relaxation.
This was our 2nd trip to Sequoia (the first trip was in the snow) and this time we were able to do some actual hiking.
We all hiked down to Crystal Cave, took a one hour tour of the cave, took a "silly" picture and then hiked up the trail. We are very proud of Matthew because he hiked all by himself!
This sign explains the next "2" pictures.
This is my attempt to show the WHOLE General Sherman Tree. As you can see, I was a little off. = - ) This tree is so amazing.
We all had a great time climbing a Sequoia tree - since it had already fallen down it was pretty easy to climb! = - )
Today (June 2) our family participated in the World's Largest YMCA 5K Fun Run. Yes, Matthew walked the 3.1 miles all by himself and he had energy to spare!!!!!!
June 15th was a very happy day in our family - the last day of school! We decided to take the kids to their favorite park and celebrate this special day.
Go Laker's! Shaq has been visiting our home for the past week because our paper included a lifesize Shaq for all the loyal fans. Doug enjoyed attending the final game at Staples Center and watching the game on the jumbo-tron.
Angelica and Jennifer had a dance recital on June 16th. They had so much fun and looked SO cute!
We always have a birthday visit with Angelica's birthparents and this year it was extra special because they are together again. This was the first time the 3 of them have been together since 1993. We are so thankful to God for the healing and reconciliation that has happened in these relationships.
Happy Father's Day! Doug had a fun day today and enjoyed a 2 hour nap this afternoon with Matthew. When you are 40 years old a nap is one of your best gifts! We decided to take 2 pics - regular and silly.
Today (June 18) we celebrated Angelica's 10th birthday with a pool party.
Grandma Arlene and Grandpa Chuck sent all the kids new bathing suits and Angelica loves the new outfit for her American Girl Doll. Grandma was really smart because she sent Jennifer one for her doll, too. Now the girls can play together with their modern American Girl Dolls. Thank you Grandma and Grandpa - we wish you could have been here!
No more web site updates for 3 weeks - we are going to the East Coast for our family vacation. Next month we will add the July page and another vacation page. See you later! = - )
