On
May 24th, 1997, our daughter Kasia Brooke LaPier married
Eric David Taylor aboard the 'Spirit of Boston', a beautiful
Boston Harbor Cruise Ship.
Kasia
was attended
by her Matron of Honor, Mrs. Leona McNeill and two Brides
maids, Megan Bates and Laura Blackler. In addition, she
had four of the most adorable flower girls anyone could
hope for.
Eric
was attended by his
Best man, Michael Golden and two Groomsmen, Travis Prior
and Ian McNeill.
The
families were
thrilled. David ; my Father; Eric's mother Evelyn and I
were all as proud as could be as we prepared for the
Ceremony.
The Ceremony itself
was held on the top deck . After the Ceremony we all
moved down to the next deck where cocktails and hor's
d'oeurves were served while the official Wedding photos
were taken.
Once
the cocktail hour was over, the guests all descended down
to the main deck where the actual reception was held
while the ship cruised the Boston harbor. The Parents and
Bridal party were announced as they descended the
gorgeous spiral staircase.
Kasia
and Eric had their first dance together as man and
wife . The song they chose for this was 'Thank you' by
Led Zeplin.
As
the Best man, Michael made the toast
and the party began in ernest.
The food included Roast Beef, Roast Pork, Stuffed
Flounder and well..all sorts of great taste treats.
The
Wedding
Cake was absolutely gorgeous. It was made my a dear
friend, Karen Turell, who is also the mother of all the
flowergirls. Kasia and Eric cut the cake and then the
dancing began! Having our dear friends and family with us
to celebrate this wonderful event was a joy that will
remain with us always.
The
four hour cruise zipped by all too fast. Before we knew
it we were pulling into the dock. Kasia tossed her
bouquet which was caught by her dear friend Catherine who
married the Best man two months later to become Mr. and Mrs. Michael Golden.
Twelve months later young Daniel
Golden came into the world.
Kasia
and Eric honeymooned for two weeks in Jamaica before
coming back to Boston and settling in as Man and Wife.
And
they lived happily
ever after. :-)
