The first organised Web-Anthology of Indian Poetry in English
translation : that's the primary mission of MetaNym and
here it is. The anthology will be a
dynamic one. We need additional poems of poets already anthologised.
The poems ( in English translation ) of other senior poets of
various languages for inclusion in the anthology are also
solicited.
MetaNym is a not-for-profit organization, with a small team
committed to promotion of creativity, especially in poetry and,
generally, in art and other genres of expression. It is a sister
organization of Varnamala. Varnamala published 'A Journal of Indian
Creativity : Varnamala' in 1988, edited by Rajendra Kishore
Panda, a recipient of Sahitya Akademi ( National Academy of Letters
) award for literature. From the print- medium, the journal turned
into a web-publication. When the World Poetry meet was held in
India, Bharat Bhavan got access to the works of noted poets of
various countries for publication, in collaboration with selected
journals. Varnamala was one such journal. Some of those poems and
other texts are placed here as archival assets of all-time
significance. MetaNym has taken the responsibility to operate the
web-journal --- Kavitayan. The journal will contain poems (
especially those translated into English ) and, occasionally, essays
and articles, artworks and other materials.
We express our gratitude to the contributors ( including the
successors of those who are no more ) --- the authors, translators,
artists, editors, consultants and others. MetaNym solicits the
support of contributors.
