"For He was wounded for our transgressions, bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement of our peace was upon Him and by His stripes we are healed" (Isaiah 53:5). Jesus Christ, God as man, took the blame for our sins. He took upon Himself all of the sin of the world and took it to the Father in Heaven. In return, He offers you the opportunity to receive Him in your life as Lord and Saviour. He offers this gift of salvation to you as a free gift. You must simply receive it. God loved you so much that He gave up His throne in Heaven and came to earth as a man, Jesus, to pay the penalty for our wrongdoing: "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in His should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent His Son into the world not to condemn it, but that the world through Him might be saved"(John 3:16-17).
God loves you. In a world where true love is very hard to find, won't you accept His gift of love to you. Believe in your heart that 1) God loves you and has a wonderful plan for your life 2) Jesus, the Son of God, came to earth to live a perfect life and die for your sins 3) He was crucified and died and raised again three days later and 4) He now reigns in Heaven at the right hand of God the Father making intercession for us. If you can believe it, God's gift is yours by simply asking. Say these words from your heart with faith that He hears you:
Dear Lord Jesus,
I know that I am a sinner.
I also know that you came to this world to save me from my sin.
I believe that you died for me,
and that you rose from the dead.
I ask you now to come into my life.
and forgive me of my sins.
I thank you for hearing my prayer
and answering it.
I now know
that from this day forward
I am forever, and always,
a Christian.
Thank you ,God for loving me
and saving me.
In Jesus name I pray, Amen.
Praise God! Your future is now so wonderful because of His plans for you. With your new life, there are a few things you will want to do soon. First, if you do not already have one, you will want to get a Bible. Read it every day for it is God's love letter to you. I recommend starting with the Book of James. It's short. Next you might try reading the Gospel of John. It's very easy to follow and enjoyable. Second thing, find a church that teaches the Bible. They can feed you with God's word and help answer any questions you have. Third thing, be baptized. The Bible states that it is an outward showing of your new life rising from the old. Finally, Pray. Don't worry about the words to say. Just talk to God like you would talk to a friend. "Jesus is a friend who sticks closer than a brother." Praise God! God hears you and knows your heart.
If you said the prayer above from your heart then I would certainly like to know about it. Please e-mail me and tell me the wonderful news. If you have any questions, let me know them and I will answer them to the best of my ability. If I cannot answer your question, I will refer it to someone who can. I hope you will continue to correspond as your life in Christ grows. Welcome to the family!
