Entry for August 03, 2007
We woke up late this morning knowing we were going to be lazy today. Patrick talked me into going to the swimming pool by the front of the complex. We went and enjoyed an hour of swimming and I helped show an uncle teach his little nephew Andrew how to blow bubbles and kick in the water. He looked to be about two and the grandfather and uncle wanted him to learn to swim. They looked like they were forcing him in the water so I went over and started talking to him and showing him how to blow bubbles. They were nice people. We went back to the apartment by 12:00 so we could get ready and order pizza from Dominoes. One of my high school friends was coming over for lunch and swimming with her two boys. We haven't seen each other in nearly 8 years. It was so great to finally see each other again. Cara got here about 12:30 and her boys Jared 7 and Jordan 12 were just great looking kids. Our kids had a good time eating the pizza. Mom made a salad and Cara made brownies. Cara's son Jared made us some banana pudding which was very good. We talked and caught up on what has been happening to us and our relatives the last several years. We noticed it was 4:00pm while we were still out swimming. Time just flew by. I have a very nice red sunburn on my shoulders and back that reminded me that I didn't reapply sunscreen. We took pictures but my camera was messing up. I am hoping Cara's turned out better. After we said our goodbyes we got cleaned up and went to ToysRUs and Target. Patrick bought some more legos with his allowance and I found some clearance deals on shoes and purses. We got John some jeans, Patrick some pants, Jaclyn some shoes & purse, and all of us will share the new Harry Potter last Book. On the way back to moms we drove by mema's house and uncle Steve was out front. We stopped for a short visit. It was great to see Steve's friend Mike and meet his new puppy. Mema showed Jaclyn and Stephanie some pictures and we enjoyed the short visit. We got back to the apartment about 7:40ish. We cooked hamburgers for dinner and then I took the kids back to the front pool to swim for an hour. With my sunburn, I did not join them. I finished reading my book. The mosquitos were out in force and I think they liked my bug spray. We all got ate up. Another late night with the kids watching videos and eating popcorn.
