Last night we received the saddest call. John's grandmother in Florida past away. She was old and was in a nursing facility with 24hr care. She hasn't been herself for about 2 yrs. She was the sweetest lady I have ever known. When John and I married in Florida he was on tour of duty there. We lived about 8 miles away on Panama City Beach. We spent 8 months of our newly married life with Grandmother and GrandDad being our BEST man and Matron of Honor at our JP wedding. They shared the top of their 50th wedding anniversary cake as our wedding cake. It is the best memory I have of them. We haven't been able to go back there but twice in the last 17 years. It breaks my heart that we live so far away from some of our family. They are so important to us. My life in Panama City Beach was our honeymoon and the best time and best memories ever. I will miss Helen. She will make someone a very good Guardian Angel. She always had a knack of a clean house, great lasagna and a joy to talk to. She was a devoted Catholic and homemaker. I hope I can be half of what she was as a woman. We love you Grandmother K. (XOXO)
