Finish Control Timing Instructions
FLYING FINISH TIMER #1
Chooses a safe location with an unobstructed view of the rally stage road and the flying finish sign.
As each competitor car crosses between timer and flying finish sign, activates clock, reads it, and states time over phone to stop control.
If finish is a "line-of-sight" location, activates clock, reads it and states time to stop control timer/timecard writer.
FLYING FINISH TIMER #2
Takes position beside timer #1.
Observes clock and notes exact time in hours, minutes and seconds that car crosses between timers and flying finish sign. Enters time on timing log, with car number, if possible.
If finish is a "line-of-sight" location, receives timecard from co-driver, enters finish time in upper right corner, calculates stage time on time card and enters stage time on stop control log.
STOP CONTROL TIMER
Takes position at Red Stop Sign, on right side of road.
Enters the time announced by Flying Finish Timer #1 (by phone) on stop control log.
Enters car number on log.
Repeats finish time to timecard writer.
Hears Actual Start time from timecard writer, enters actual start time on log.
Subtracts finish time from start time to obtain stage score.
Verbally verifies stage score time with timecard writer.
STOP CONTROL TIMECARD WRITER
Receives time card from co-driver and enters finish time in upper right corner.
Reads Actual Start Time aloud to Stop Control Timer.
Subtracts finish time from start time to obtain stage score.Verbally verifies stage score time with stop control timer.
Returns time card to co-driver.
