STAGE CAPTAIN GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS

As each stage and captain has a unique set of circumstances in this rally, I’ll try to give a general list of things to handle, followed by a line item list of specifics for each one of you individually. Then you can punch me later.

Here goes:.......

1. Meet your crew at a designated location very close to the start or finish of your stage, but on blacktop, so they don’t get lost, 3 hours prior to your stage start.

2. Using the stage packets given to you, have each member of your team sign a waiver and get a wristband.

3. Using the notes provided in your route book, tell each member of your team what their position or job is, and their location to perform that job, i.e. start, finish, instruction number on the stage route.

4. They should all have written instructions describing their specific duties. If not, you have a copy of each job in your packet, so explain it to them and let them read it.

5. Lead your team into the start or finish of your stage. Drop off your start or finish crew, set up the signs and phone lines (if finish), leave them a packet of stage logs, (both start and finish), and then proceed down the course, dropping off members of the crew at their designated locations. As you proceed down the course, tie up all banner guard at all locations where it is half-tied. At the far end of the stage, (start or finish), set up signs and phone lines (if finish), and give them a packet of stage logs. Again, they should all have instructions in hand.

6. Proceed back to the START of the stage (if you first entered from start and got to finish.)

7. Your Ham operators should be in place at least one hour prior to your start time. Verify with them that they have communications down the line from start, through relay, to finish.

8. Verify, through your Ham, that there is communication from your flying finish crew to your stop control crew. (If you have a line-of-sight finish, that’s not necessary. It will be NOTED in your route book!)

9. Have your crew practice starts and finishes with both the advance vehicle and the pace vehicle.

You’re now good to go. Bring on the rally cars!!!!!!!.
