Year 1999

This was my first quilt.  It's a
pillow from a Thimbleberries pattern.  It was machined pieced and
quilted, the buttonhole stitches around the leaves was hand finished.
It was completed  In April 1999.

This quilt was made for my son's very
special 3rd grade teacher, Mrs. Phillips.  Each child in his class
made a self portrait and I sashed the blocks together.  Machine pieced
and quilted, completed in May 1999.

This 3rd quilt was made for my good friend
Maya and her new son.  This was the first quilt made on my new Janome
9000.  I love the machine!!!

This is just one of two identical quilts.
The quilts were completed in September 99. I have donated one to Project
Linus and the other to the Quilts For Kids service project for the Kingwood
Area Quilt Guild.

This quilt was made for a dear friend
of mine, Shirley.  It was made from a pattern called "An Ocean of
Fishes".  What is so neat is that the first night I ever went to the
Kingwood Area Quilt Guild is that the designer of the pattern was the guest
speaker that night!!

This quilt is a work still in progress.
I made it during a class on machine piecing.  I'm still contemplating
how I want to quilt it.......

This one was my first experiment with
stained glass technique.  It was machine quilted and completed in
October 99. I'm quite proud of it!

This one was a challenge quilt between
my mother and I.  We found some 100% cotton fabric that looked like
lame' and she dared me to create something from it.  I did use a pattern
though(on the left) !!!  Don't tell her!!!!  The quilt on the
right is my mom's.
(I think she won!!)

This is my African Quilt that I made for my dear friend Pearl who adores African art. The center is a piece of Indonesian Batik bordered by pieces of authentic African fabric.
