NUMBERING SYSTEM

I give the number 0 to the common ancestor, the numbers 1 2 .. to his children,
11 12 .. 21 22 .. to his grandchildren, and so on.
For ease of reading I insert a blank after every 4th digit.
So their number they would have in withers.html is 382 followed by their
number in below.

The generation number 0- 1- 2- etc appears before the first name.
Add 4 to this to get the generation number 1-- 2-- etc in withers.html

SUMMARY This files gives the descendants of Thomas WITHERS (bp 1663 Bishops Cannings,Wiltshire,UK-1720 Chester co, PA,USA) He is numbered here as 0 0-.

OBITUARY: Heading: Waterloo Man Uses Cord to Hang Himself Trunick
RUSSELL Is Found Dead With Electric Iron Cord Around Neck Today New
Marshfield: April 22-Trunick RUSSELL, age 52, ended his life at his
home here this morning by hanging himself to the head of his bed with
an electric iron cord. His wife found the body when she returned home
from a visit to her daughter, Mrs. Sam RIGGLES, also of this place,
about 10 o'clock. Mrs. RUSSELL had gone to her daughter's home about
9 o'clock, she told Coroner L. F. Jones, and on the way back stopped
at the home of C. L. JONES, a neighbor. When she arrived home she
called JONES, who notified the coroner. Mrs. RUSSELL told the coroner
that her husband had been in poor health and had been unable to work
for more than a year. He was formerly employed at the Luhrig Mine.
Mrs. RUSSELL also said that her husband had made another attempt to
take his life about a month ago, at which time his sons prevented him
from shooting himself. He leaves, in addition to his widow, five
children: Mrs. RIGGLE, Edna RUSSELL, Ransdall, Trunick, Jr., and
Charles. The tree boys were in school at the time of Mr. RUSSEL's
death while Edna was working at the A and P Grocery Store. Also
surviving are two sisters: Mrs. George KYRE of Gypsy, W. Va., and
Mrs. Mont COLLINS of Middleport; three brothers, Orville RUSSELL of
Luhrig, Alonzo RUSSELL of Athens, and Heaston RUSSELL of Akron; and
two grandchildren, Jack and Merrill Riggle. The body was taken to the

4111 457 7-Orpha Pauline WITHERS, b. April 14, 1895, New Marshfield, Waterloo
Township, Athens County Ohio; d. December 1972, Gallipolis, Ohio; Gallipolis
Mental Health Hospital. FAMILY HISTORY: written by Pauline's great
niece, Janet Goff JENKINS. I remember Pauline when I was growing up
in New Marshfield, Ohio as a girl. I was always told that at the age
of 6 years Pauline contacted scarlet fever and the fever left her with
the mind of a 6 year old the rest of her life. She lived with her
mother until her mother, Susan Edna Swaim WITHERS, could no longer
physically take care of Pauline because of failing health. After
Pauline's mother's death, Pauline stayed for awhile with her sister
and my grandmother, Janet Withers RUSSELL. Because Pauline could at
times be hard to handle, Janet very reluctantly admitted Pauline to
the Columbus State Hospital where she was cared for. As a girl I
remember going there to visit with her. She was then moved to a
cottage in the State vacility at Gallipolis, Ohio which was a very
homey vacility of which Pauline enjoyed being. Janet worked at Ohio
University in Athens, Ohio as a cook at one of the halls and was
unable to keep Pauline at home. But, Janet and her children visited
Pauline often, sent her birthday presents and Christmas presents every
year and we would even go as a family and have picnics on the
vacilities grounds. My father, Solomon GOFF, would be the one to
drive grandma and his family down on Sundays to visit with Pauline.
Also, after , Pauline's sister, Janet , retired from Ohio University,
Janet would bring Pauline to New Marshfield for a two week visit every
so often which Pauline really enjoyed. I feel compeled to say this ,
the Janet RUSSELL family including her children treated Pauline
wonderfully, never forgot her birthdays, and gave her wonderful gifts
at Christmas. Everytime my father, Solomon, would be with Pauline he
would take her to an ice cream place and buy her the biggest ice cream
cone they sold. She loved it. The family also talked to her, paid
attention to her and enjoyed teasing her and she would usually blush
and hide behind someone as a child would do. The story is told that
when Pauline lived with Janet that if she were left with the RUSSELL
children for a while that when her sister, Janet , would come home,
Pauline usually had taken the clothes off of the children and had
washed and hung up their clothes. She was able to do some
houseworking tasks. Pauline loved her sister, Janet, and when
Grandmother passed away in July of 1972 the family did not tell her
because Pauline would continually ask about her sister and cry to see
her. But, Pauline did get the opportunity to see her sister shortly
because in the same year of 1972 Pauline passed away with pneumonia
only five months after Janet.

school term started. The parents of myu classmates finally approached her
and explained that they knew she would never show favor. Things eased up a
bit then. She was always very good to me and I felt a great loss at her
passing. Her family home was a gathering place for her ceices and nephews
and their families. The yard was large and well shaded by large maples near
the road.
