Sandi...

The Day Sandi Got Serious

She sat behind the piano with her head slumped on the keys
One solitary tear, it was a side I thought I'd never see
In the silence you could feel her pain rip your heart in two
And I wanted so bad to make her smile and laughter come shining through

For I'd never seen Sandi serious
I'd never seen Sandi blue
And in that moment of weakness
I discovered just how much I cared for you

And there I sat so worthless, unable to say
Everything she made me feel, in silence I did betray
The very heart in me, for I knew all too well
Her laughter was my happiness and as another tear slowly fell
I really should have told her all she meant to me
But I never had the courage, so shy and so naive

For I'd never seen Sandi serious
Her heart searching for some melody
And a room never felt quite so silent
As the day she no longer laughed and smiled for me...
There's so much I should say
