Only You
A Sailors Story
As the sun sets off the fantail,
My thoughts turn to you.
You are framed in my mind,
Our last kiss, our last embrace.
My heart aches remembering the tears,
Holding you, not wanting to let go.
Wishing I could hold you now,
And lose the world in our embrace.
We are part of each others souls,
Each incomplete without the other.
Knowing the time apart saddens me.
The Navy owns me now, soon I will be all yours.
Stars bloom brightly now, as I ache for you.
Picturing you in my mind, watching you sleep.
So pretty, so sweet, so loving, listening to you breathe.
I love you with all my heart, soul, mind, and body.
God made us for each other.
As the ship rolls and moans,
I look up at the star splashed sky,
And whisper, "Thank you God"!
