The Joys of Night

In the dark night, under the star-lit sky,
Dreaming dreams I never knew I
Ever dared to dream before
Thinking thoughts I know that I
Will never think again.

The wind blows clear, the stars shine bright
And hope is born again;
The cares of the day now fade away,
And I am free again
For the night is whole as am I.

For the worries of the day are gone
And only the night is here,
In this bright dark I now can see
My true self within the mirror
That only the night can truly show.

I sing to the night
And the night sings back,
The shadows dance with joy:
The mysteries and wonders I never lack
For the star-lit night is mine alone.
