Story
The very short story of Thyrza's life is that she was born, was vicious and was rewarded. The slightly longer version might include these facts:
Thyrza was born on Devil's Isle to a Lyrian woman (hence the purple eyes) and a demi-demon (hence the dark skin) on a dark morning. From a very early age on she showed signs of a strong stubborn spirit and an easy understanding of dark magic. Both these traits were passed down through her father but it was the political insight she learned from her mother that got her where she is today.
Oleyan knew her daughter was special and taught her in the most secret of arts on Lyria. She had access to the darkest libraries through her male contacts and her power over the female royals and called in all favours for Thyrza's education. 
Even more favours were called in and dark magic was used to get Thyrza to a hatching at the core. Many people were opposed to such a powerful, yet still morally unformed, child bonding a dragon and even more became worried when she caught a Demon, the highest and most noble of all Southern dragons. 
Sinistra actually calmed Thyrza down. She gave her a purpose. Before the bonding Thyrza had been using her skills of the dark art in vain and at random. After Sinistra appeared in her life Devil's Isle once again cooled to a more normal state of turmoil. 
However, no-one can say Demons are calming dragons. Sinistra and Thyrza worked together to form a stronger bond between their spirits. With the help of the other one of them could visit the after-life and even the realms of above  to see the future and have a say in what would come.
It was this way they used to spy for an opportunity. When Thyrza was barely 24 she seized power and avenged the death of her mother who had been murdered by a group that wanted to prevent her rising as Overlordess. Thyrza was quite amused by the irony of their mistake. By killing her mother they had opened the way for her, their greatest nightmare, to claim the throne.
Now, 17 years later, Thyrza is still leading the South in her own subtle way. Her temperament has eased a bit with the years. She still uses the dark arts to gain power, but she uses it more subtle. She has seen that this aids her quest to be feared.
On most occasions she can be found dressed in red or purple with Sinsitra at her side. The dragon never leaves her and the halls in the old inner castle had to be widened just for her.
Thyrza spends most of her time in the Inner castle overlooking the core with it's red glow. She studies there, completing her knowledge of the dark arts and eliminates threats to her power. But most of her time she works on her big project: the rise of the South out of the depression and poverty it is in now to a prosperity equal to the North.
