Newly installed street lights - Kaimanawa Street

The newly installed street lights in Kaimanawa Street, adjoining Kaimanawa Park and Kelvin Grove Community Centre (at right), photographed on 3 July 2001. While street lights aren't normally a particularly interesting topic, these ones were. They replaced sparcely located short, weak ones that stood about the height of the trees. This caused problems on what is a busy street serving a light industrial area - except when this photo was taken!! It was also rubbish collection day.
