When I started mushing again, I didn't want to go back to Elendor eventhough I had a great time, there. I wanted something new, something different. I started to play on the Beleriand MUSH. I still use Tinymud as my client. Tinymud is an elisp client that runs within Emacs.
Derelin is a shepherd in Dor-lómin, also known as the Land of Echos. You can read about the coming of men in the Silmarillion chapters Of the Coming of Men into the West and Of the Ruin of Beleriand and the Fall of Fingolfin.
Derelin lives north of the city, close to the mountains of Mithrim. In the valleys beyond the elves of Mithrim live by their lake. Even farther lie the plains of Ard-Galen, soon to be Anfauglith. I joined the MUSH a few days before the fourth great battle, Dagor Bragollach. It was then that the plains of Ard-Galen were burnt and many perished. Anfauglith it was called henceforth, the Gasping Dust.
Unlike many others of House of Hador, Derelin's hair is brown and his eyes are as grey as the mists of Hithlum. Probably this is due to ancestors from the House of Bëor the Old, but no one knows for sure; Derelin doesn't like to talk about it. He is married and has a son and a daughter.
On my second day on the MUSH (2001-01-28) I found myself in Barad Eithel, a tower overlooking the big plain of Ard-Galen. In the evening light, I walked amongst the tents and happend upon two women sitting by a fire, feeding a kitten. As Derelin is very fond of animals, he stops and gets involved...
On the next day in Barad Eithel, I met with Fingolfin. It was pretty hard to find a situation to Rp with him -- shortly before the great war, where he challenges Morgoth to single combat!! We decided to play him sitting by a fire (must the the standard setting for all Rp here in Barad Eithel, haha). Unfortunately, we didn't get far.
On 2001-01-30 I met Hador and Gundor in Barad Eithel. At the end, Mirendel tried to join us but suffered from severe Rebootitis... Anyway, Rp with Gundor and Hador was great (eventhough Baradil played both, hehe).
I seem to have lost a log somewhere between this one and the next, but so it goes...
2001-02-03 was the first day of Dagor Bragollach, the Battle of Sudden Flame.
