WikiPublishing

WikiMode can be used to view and edit wiki pages, and it can be used to publish the wiki. Publishing transforms the plain text pages into HTML pages.

Publishing exploits the LayoutRules:

• Blank lines turn to paragraph separators (P)
• WikiNames turn to links (A HREF)
• URLs turn to links (A HREF)
• Asterixes at the beginning of a line turn to list items (LI)
• Paragraphs starting with an asterix are unordered lists (UL)
• Indented paragraphs are not line-wrapped (PRE)
• `<' and `>' are quoted (your wikis may not contain any HTML)
• The `&' character is not quoted (try to avoid it)
• Text within a pair of two single quotes (&#39;&#39;) is emphasized (STRONG)

The reason for not quoting the `&' character is it's use in certain URLs. Personally, I've added a rule to MyWikiModeSetup that quotes the `&' characters. These URLs then contain the quoted `&amp;' entity, but then again, some browsers don't seem to mind, so I'm fine.
