Art: Painting and Drawing: Deatrick Gallery's Abandoned Art

Abandoned Art

When we heard that Louisville's Deatrick Gallery was putting on a serious art exhibit of nothing but weird paintings culled from Salvation Army and Goodwill stores, flea markets, yard sales, and trash dumpsters, we were naturally elated. As with all things, we firmly believe the best and most powerful creative force is to be found in the periphery.

The show will open on January 7th at 6pm, and we urge all regular KTF readers to check it out. We'll be providing the background "music" for the evening, playing goodies from our archives of obscure local demos, homemade tapes, found recordings, and maybe, just maybe, we'll even play the coveted Snowball & Cuttipy cassette.
