Music: Mystery Tapes:
Have you ever been to a yard sale or thrift store and seen a cassette tape hand-labeled something like "Durwood plays piano"? Or "Becky's 1st Christmas"? Or "Mom singing with Papaw, 1982"?
We voraciously hoard any and all cassette recordings that contain such slices of real life, documenting things that most people - even the people who originally recorded them - usually wouldn't consider worth documenting. Same goes for videotapes.
We eventually plan on releasing a series of compact disc collections of the most interesting of such homemade tapes, and would love to trade materials with you. Scour your local Goodwill and let us know what you find. Unlike most other areas of study here at KTF, this call is for tapes from all over the nation and even the planet, not just the state of Kentucky.
