(Dead world, sea is red, line of red in sky, Shinji awakens next to a bandaged Asuka. Shinji looks out into the sea and sees Rei floating above it, she dissapears. Shinji gets up and looks at Asuka.)
(Shinji strangles Asuka. An Eva lies crucified in the background. Asuka touches Shinji gently. He lets go and begins crying. She appears dead till her eyes shift to Shinji.)
