I thought instead of trying to make some little biography about myself (which would suck writing *smirk*), I would instead just fill out one of these surveys... and I'm supposing at least you can find out a few things about me through it, 'cause it says a lot. So, feel free to go ahead and dive into reading, if you wanna... if not, escape now, before you get pulled in. ;)
Name: Keri.
Nicknames: Ker, Keri Bearie, Kerida, Kerika, KareBear, as well as a few others between my girl and I. :)
Screen name[s]: wappenshaw is the main one I use on AIM. I have a couple of lurking names but I'd prefer to keep 'em as my lurker ones, so I'm not about to reveal that. I also have a name on Yahoo now, which is KeriBearie for anyone that uses that. :)
Age: I am now 24. lol, I can remember when I was 18, I thought for SURE I'd be having a kid by this age. Good Lord, lol... don't get me wrong, I'd love a baby, but I think I had some growing up to do before I could be a good mommy. So I'm quite okay with being 24 and being where I'm at. Everything happens for a reason. :)
Grade: Eh, I don't know if I HAVE a grade. I finished my AA Degree (in English). But I'm also taking a couple of random classes that I needed. I'm prolly going to continue to take classes part-time, when I move out so I can still get my BA eventually. I'm in no rush...it'll come eventually, on its own time.
Sex: Female.
Birthday: Feb 18, 1981.
Zodiac sign: I'm an Aquarius, although I was born on the very last day of it...so I don't know if that means I can also seem like a Pisces at times, 'cause I know I waiver back and forth between the two sometimes.
Height: *pouts* I'm 5'3. Whaaaat? I still haven't gotten over the trauma of finding out I was no longer 5'4. Shrinking is for old people dangit. :-p
Hair-Color: *sighs* I'm brown. I can admit it. I am no longer blondish-brown. Maybe sometimes a blond tint comes through during the summer, but I'm not out in the sun enough for that to happen. So I really am a brunette.
Eye Color: Blue-grey... with some gold flecks.
Siblings name(s): Keith. He's about 28 years old now, I do believe, so yes he's my older brother.
Hobbies: Well, writing in my book Falling and Rising is a new hobby of mine. As well as poems and songs, of course. Basically anything creative, I tend to find as fun to do. My hobbies aren't "normal" persay, hehe. But of course I like to go out with friends and have fun. Sometimes you just need a nice mental health break like that. :)
The CRUSH Side:
Who was your first crush?: My first big one was Josh. I crushed on him for years, although it was easy to do so 'cause he was my best friend since I was 9 or so for so many years. We aren't in touch anymore, at all really. I think more by my own choice than his. I want people around who actually appreciate my presence in their life.
If you could go out with anyone in the world, who would it be?: *goofy smile* The answer to this question has always been, and always will be, Sara. Even when we weren't together, I was still wishing to be with her. She was my first love and she is my true love...some bonds you just can't break, no matter how you or people may try. I'm incredibly happy to have her a part of my life and love again, more than she or anyone could know. My heart is singing again. :) And my soul is no longer waiting for its mate to come home, because she is home and now it's dancing. :)
What do you first notice about the same sex: I tend to see a girl's eyes first, 'cause they are the window to the soul...that window can make them so beautiful. The next thing I notice is a girl's smile...I like happy, kinda goofy smiles. :) LOL and lastly, I notice the chest 'cause I am human dangit and majorly into breasts, hehe. :-p
Your idea of a perfect date: Okay, this actually has a two-part answer... If we're talking about going OUT on a perfect date, then I would say anything involving nature and the beauty of it tends to be a perfect date. That's why I've always loved the idea of walking along the beach, hand in hand, and then having a bonfire at sunset. Because it's beautiful, awe-inspiring, and something where you see as a couple that God's watching over you and blessing you with such a beautiful thing. To show His blessing over you. I'm sure there are tons of other "nature" things that would fall into this categroy too...as long as there's that beauty, I'm happy. :) However, if we're talking about ANYTHING for a perfect date, I'd prefer to spend it in. The perfect date for me, honestly, isn't about going out. It's about staying in, cuddling and loving for hours on end, giggling and having fun, either cooking or ordering something in so we don't have to leave...just simply enjoying each other's presence, company, and love. Going out can be a lot of fun, but sometimes the best and simplest pleasures are in being able to stay in. :)
How romantic are you?: On a scale of 1 to 10? 10. *laughs* What? I'm not sheepish. ;) I'm very romantic. It just has to be the right person for that romance to come out...my whole heart has to be invested into it. I love sweeping a woman off her feet, as long as it's the right woman. :)
Biggest turn-on: *cough cough cough* Uhh, I KNOW what the answer is to this, um... but if Sara wants to know, she can ask me and I'll happily tell her. :-p The rest of you don't get to know. :-p ;) LOL... but honestly, for me, so much of what being turned on is about is...feeling loved. Truly and wholeheartedly loved and appreciated. :) Hehe, and as a side thing, mental fireworks – that back and forth kind of banter – is VERY GOOD. :-D
Most romantic thing that happened to you: Upon reflection... I think the most romantic thing that's ever happened to me... was when I felt beautiful. In the way of that, every little thing about me was paid attention to and cherished...there was no rush, no hurry. Y'know, where like...my face was explored for longer than normal, tummy loved, all those little things noticed and made beautiful by her touch. I'd never been more romanced in my life. *shy smile* See? Sometimes I don't need glitz and glamor, the simplest things touch my heart the most. :)
Memory you miss most: *sighs* Being held by my girl. I'm going to be in just a few short weeks, but there's something magical and healing in being held by her...and being able to hold her. I miss getting caught up in cuddling and snuggling and completely losing track of time. Just being together, nowhere else to be, but right there with each other.
If you could go back in time, where would you go?: I'd like to go back to... Feb 20, 2002, the day at Disneyland with Sara. That was one of the funnest days I've had, ever. I can't remember having that much fun. I'd love to go back and relive that day all over again, it was just too special like that. :) Ooh, or going back to looking over the Golden Gate Bridge from that hill with Sara...so peaceful and beautiful.
Thing that you regretted doing after you had done it: *has to laugh* Don't even ask. There are WAY too many things I've come to regret from my past. But... the past is the past. We learn from it, change because of it, and move on from it to better things. And THAT'S what matters.
Memory you would like to forget: Watching my dad's heart attack. Or my dog Rocky's eyes when he was saying goodbye to me.
Last thing you said: "I love you" to my girl.
Last song you listened to: "Thank You for Loving Me" by Bon Jovi.
The FUTURE Side:
Occupation: Good Lord, I don't know, lol. I'm either going to be a travel agent or a teacher. But I'll be honest and say that I'm leaning toward getting my BA so that I can be a teacher in the future. NOW, I may explore being a travel agent to see if I want to remain in that field for good...but unless I decide I do, I want to aim to be a teacher.
Dream Car: I don't have a dream car. I'm happy with the one I have...although it's breaking on me. I'm sure I'm going to need to get a new one before I move.
Husband/Wife: *cough* Um, no, no wife... but I have the best girlfriend in the world. And if one day in the future, she wants me to be her wife, she can take comfort in the knowledge that I'd say yes. :)
Kids: I'd like two. A girl and a boy. But if I could only have one, I want a girl. lol, not to say I wouldn't love a boy too, but I'm partial toward girls. ;)
Future son's name: I've always liked the name Michael, but this is something that is a two-person decision.
Future daughter's name: I like the names Raine and Kayla/Kaylie, but again, two-person decision. Plus I'm sure I could come up with better ones if I just looked through a baby name book, lol.
Honeymoon: Hawaii. *laughs* No, really, Hawaii. I freakin' wanna go to Hawaii. It's been the one place I've wanted to go to in the whole wide world, and have I gotten there? No. Have I been to other places? Yes. So why haven't I gotten to Hawaii yet? I don't know. And I so wanna go too, dangit. I wanna swim with the dolphins, look at that beautiful ocean water, and just be there...it's so beautiful. If I get to do Hawaii before my honeymoon, I'm all for going to Australia/New Zealand for my honeymoon then- that'd be my second choice, definitely. (*laughs* I'm keeping this in 'cause this answer has not changed. ;))
The FAVORITES Side:
Thing to do: Talking to my girl on the phone, and if I get to actually be with her? Cuddling. Hands down. Let's cuddle, baby! Hehe. ;)
Drink: Coke. :)
TV show: Ooh, that's hard. I watch way too many frickin' shows now. I don't know how I keep up with them, honestly, but I manage it. It used to automatically be the O.C. but that show has annoyed me the last few episodes with Ryan and Marissa being back together, so I dunno... prolly Lost – there hasn't been a single bad or mediocre show. I love that one. :)
Movie: Ferris Bueller's Day Off, Dirty Dancing, and/or Adventures in Babysitting. *grins* Years may go by, but not much has changed, lol.
Quote from a movie: I have a new one actually. From Miss Congeniality 2: Armed and Fabulous. It really stood out to me and was SO true... "People care about people who care about themselves." :)
Band/Artist: I don't know if I have a single favorite artist. Kelly Clarkson is high on the list, I know that much. Otherwise I have so many different tastes, it's hard to zero in on just one. I adore Tori Amos, Maroon 5, and many more, I can't even think of 'em.
Color: Any shade of blue. Blue is my color, it's what looks best on me, brings out my eyes.
Cd: Ah man, that's a sucky question, lol. Right now? It's prolly Kelly Clarkson's new album. I think only dislike one song on there, which is a huge improvement from her first album. That album was so disappointing to me that this one has blown me outta the water. :)
Day of the week: Saturday, because it means I am beginning my weekend off work, and just 'cause overall, it always seems to be a nice day. :)
Book: "Love is a Decision" by Gary Smalley.
Number: 18.
Cookie: I love homemade cookies best...like Snickerdoodles or Schoolhouse Ranger Cookies. Mmmmm. :) If they're not homemade though, my fave cookie is prolly either those Keebler fudge-striped ones, Oreos, or the circus animal cookies.
Phrase to overuse: "Normal people do this." LOL, that's all Julie's fault. She cracks me up whenever she says that about someone who is so not acting normally, lol.
Toothpaste: Crest Multicare with Whitening.
Ice Cream: Mint N Chip.
Candy bar: Hershey's.
Teacher: Miss J... from Drama freshman year in high school. I absolutely adored her. She was more a friend than anything else actually. I could respect her as a teacher while still being her friend. Which was very good. She knew how to keep that respect (as a teacher). I miss her.
Restaurant: Vince's Spaghetti...mmm mmm good. *whimper* I don't know what I'm going to do without my Vince's Spaghetti if I move to Texas. I have a feeling I'm going to make my mom ship their sauce out to me, lol, you think I'm joking! They let you buy a gallon of their oh so tasty tomato sauce, so I just may make her sometime if I'm having a big craving. lol ;)
Channel: Eh...I dunno. Fox, ABC, or WB.
Radio Station: I listen to KIIS FM most of the time, either KIIS 102.7 or STAR 98.7 which is kinda a low-key rock station.
Type of music: *laughs* My favorite type of music will most likely always be pop. It's just the way it has to be apparently. 'Cause for instance, Jesse McCartney came out with a pop album recently...who bought it? ME! And who's loving it 'cause it's pop-y? ME! *cough* I'm so predictable. ;) But at the same time, I love almost any kind of music. Just not rap.
Shampoo/Conditioner: Eh, I dunno. I don't have a favorite... oh wait, yes I do... I love Pert Plus simply 'cause my girl used it and it smelled like her. :)
Song: "Breathe" by Faith Hill. :)
Music Video: "Tearin' Up My Heart" by 'N SYNC.. I just absolutely adored that video for some reason. I love all the use of color and how they'd have the camera flashes and everything. *laughs* And "Take on Me" by Ah-ha!! LOL what? I've always loved that video! Hehe...there's my 80's side coming out. ;)
Sport: To watch, women's basketball. To play, softball.
Website: I have a new favorite site... GCN, a gay Christian board I'm a part of -- the people are absolutely amazing, and I thank God daily for bringing me to them. :)
Relative: My mom, hands down. Especially now that we've worked through a lot of things and she's very supportive, our relationship is in tip-top shape. :)
Hangout: Eh, I don't have a hangout. If I hangout, I hangout with Laura usually and it's random places. Although Allie and I have a hangout! Russell's Hamburgers in Old Town Pasadena. Hehe. ;)
The PEOPLE YOU KNOW Side:
Most Lovable: Sara, hands down. I got so much love overflowing in this heart for her. :)
Best Friend: I've never been one to have just one best friend...I usually tend to have three actually, lol, and they all kinda fill different needs of mine. I'd say my best friends now are: Julie, Laura, Sara, and Allie.
Funniest: *laughs* Julie and Laura are catfighting for this title! ;)
Bitchiest: Anya. LOL... It's been proven!
Loudest: Allie, hands down. LOL, sorry girl but you can be loud...lol, you cracked me up at the pizza place at Hollywood & Highland, you were nice and loud then too, you are a force to be reckoned with, my friend. :)
Craziest: W i l l. LOL. ;)
Best at keeping secrets: Julie and Sara have always proven to be able to keep all my secrets. I trust them both with my heart.
Smartest: Karen 'cause she just seems to know so much, Queenie 'cause that girl amazes me with her brains sometimes, and Sara 'cause that girl knows so many random things, I tend to marvel at her.
Most innocent-looking: This always went to Benny, although I haven't talked to her in ages. Allie is very innocent-looking, although sometimes she truly IS innocent. :)
Sweetest: Allie.
Hottest: MY BABY!!! WOOOOOO!!! HOT! Mmm mmm good! :-D
Most hyper: *laughs* I dunno, I tend to make Julie very hyper. But Allie can be hyper on her own, lol. It's a toss-up.
Biggest pervert: W i l l. *big smirk* Although some of my GCN friends are beginning to rival him, as is evidenced in the friends' quotes page. ;)
Most annoying: If you're annoying, I don't spend time with you, simple as that. :-p
Quietest: Queenie. She never talks anymore.
The BELIEVE OR NOT Side:
Do you believe in angels?: Yes, I do.
Do you believe in miracles?: Absolutely. Even moreso in recent months, I have seen miracles left and right. God is a God of miracles.
Heaven & Hell?: Yes.
God?: Of course!
Goddess?: No, it's not my cup of tea.
Other?: Nope.
Yourself?: Yes, I do...which is a big thing, 'cause I didn't for awhile.
The HAVE YOU EVER Side:
Been on a plane: Many times. Me and planes are friends now apparently, lol. I've been to England twice, Australia, Georgia/Florida, New York/Canada, Washington, but most of all, most of my time spent on a plane has been to Texas to see my girl. Which I'm thrilled that I'm going to be able to do that again soon! :)
Cried in public: Yes. I'm much more comfortable about crying in public now than I was in the past. I don't really care if other people see me... it's more about the fact that if I AM crying in the first place, that means I feel absolutely and completely safe with the person I'm talking to. I feel so safe, it's like they protect me from those stares.
Climbed a tree: Nope. Too clumsy. Can't get one foot up on it.
Fell asleep in a Movie Theater: Nope, I haven't. Although lol, with the lack of sleep I get 'cause of my job, there have been a couple of times I've been tempted. But I don't go to a movie to go to sleep. It's rare that I go to a movie, so when I do, you best believe I be stayin' awake! :-p
Met the president: Nope, and I don't really care to...in general.
Met a celebrity: Quite a few.... comes with being in LA, I think.
Gotten a cavity: *looks around in a jitter-y fashion* No... but... I haven't been to the dentist in awhile, so it's very likely that I do but just am not in pain... la la la... I'm actually planning on going to my mom's dentist soon 'cause they have a gentler, kinder approach to dental care. Plus see, there have been all these studies that have come out saying how cavity fillings are bad for your heart 'cause the mercury levels, etc... and I've never had a filling. But this place, they fill it with natural tooth-like material that is very healthy for you. So yes, my mom has turned me into this fiend who refuses to get a normal cavity filling. God help my bank account in the future. LOL. :-p
Said, "I love you": I am saying it a LOT lately, and absolutely adoring the fact that I am. I never get tired of it. :)
Made prank calls: No... I live a sheltered life. LOL.
Gone skinny dipping: Nope. I'd only go skinny dipping if it was just me and my girl and there was NO NO NO NO possibility anyone would see us. I am a prude in that way. LOL. :-p
Skipped school: Yeah.... Jen and I were tired after the 'N SYNC concert and wanted to sleep. *smirk* Then we came back the following day with our 'N SYNC "backstage passes" (we fooled everyone) - so I'm SURE all the teachers knew we had skipped, but they found it humorous with all the stories we had from it.
Loved somebody SO much it made you cry: Oh, yeah... in both happy and sad ways. I have recently in happy ways. :)
Gone to a theme park and checked out all the cute guy/girls: *laughs* Um, no. I hardly ever go to a theme park as it is anyways. The last time I did, I was with my girl, and my eyes were only on her... which is exactly the way I like it. :)
WHAT DO YOU THINK OF WHEN YOU HEAR?
Bill Clinton: *sighs* Oh whatever.
Lollipops: Blow Pops! I love those... with the gum in the center. :)
Dreams: I think dreams tell you what your subconscious is thinking. It brings those thoughts to the forefront of your mind. But also, I think our dreams allow us to act out things that we wouldn't ever do in real life -- it's a place we can go crazy in, safely. And that's okay.
Love: *happy sigh* Love is just...amazing. So beautiful. Magical. It's unconditional. It's from God. It's simply so many things... but all I know is that love? Love was worth the wait... and I couldn't be happier to have it in my life again. I hope with all I have that it's here to stay. :)
Whipped Cream: Hate it. Can't stand it. No, seriously, I can't- I've always had a deep dislike for whipped cream. I always scrape it off if it's on anything I get.
South Park: That one song, "Mothaf****" LOL!! That song is just too much-- I swear, when I was walking out of the theater, it was stuck in my head and I wanted to sing it. It was so bad... LOL. What I find most hilarious about that movie is the fact that people were WALKING out of the theater so offended, and we were all sitting there laughing our booties off. ;)
Boy Bands: *laughs* As evidenced earlier, I am very much a teenybopper. So yes, I love boy bands. I wish they'd come back. Oh wait, Backstreet is back! But they weren't my favorite group. Although their new song is really pretty. Hmm. But 'N SYNC was always my fave... although I don't necessarily like Justin or JC by themselves. So eh. :-p
Guys: Absolutely frickin' adorable if they're gay boys!! ;) ;) ;)
Girls: As long as they're not after me, lol, they're what keep me going sometimes. My sanity of sorts, always there to bounce things off of. Especially one girl in particular. :)
Death: Horrible. Honestly, horrible in a lot of ways. But...you can learn things even from death. Be careful to let yourself truly experience it, 'cause it could come back to haunt you.
The WHICH WOULD YOU RATHER BE Side:
Dog/Cat: Dog.
Blue/Purple: Blue... despite my Hail Bop fascination. *laughs*
Chocolate/Vanilla: Vanilla.
Pen/Pencil: Pen.
Plumber/Tras: I'm so not a plumber.
Ear/Eye: Ear... I can't live without my music...or even hearing my girl's voice...while I could get by with not seeing her, but still being able to reach out and feel her. If I lost my hearing, I'd never get a sense of her voice again.
Rich and Unhappy/Poor and Happy: Poor and Happy.
The QUESTIONS THAT DON'T MATTER, BUT I'M STILL ASKING Side:
Do you sleep with a stuffed animal, if so what?: No, I don't... actually, that's not true. Occasionally, when I need to have someone to snuggle up to in the night, I like to snuggle up to my bear, Blue. I usually snuggle up to her when I'm feeling sad or lonely or have been crying or am scared -- she always comforts me in that way. I just get up out of my bed, grab Blue and hold on tight to her till I fall asleep.
Last time you showered: Two days ago. I'm feelin' lazy.
Do you wear glasses/contacts?: Yes, I do. Ever since I got my new glasses, I tend to wear those all the time. I rarely wear my contacts. That's because I like the way my glasses look on me so much, lol, I know I look hot in 'em. ;) But I still wear my contacts for special occasions or times when I know I'd rather not have glasses on my face...like when I'm out and it's raining.
How many buddies do you have on your list: Um... I think something like 65, but I only really talk to maybe 20 of them.
What are the last 4 digits of your number?: If you're meant to know my
number, you already know the answer to this question. If you're meant to
someday know my number, it will be revealed to you. Don't rush it. :)
One pillow or two, cotton or feather: One... unless it's flat, then two. But I don't like flat pillows...I like 'em fluffy. :)
Last CD you bought: Jesse McCartney's album.
How long are you in the shower?: 25 minutes...I get a bit caught up in the nice hot water, thank you...I like my long, hot showers.
Do you get tan?: *laughs* I CAN get tan, but do I? No. Mainly because I don't let myself be in the sun, 'cause I hate the heat. :-p And I don't like bees. That makes sense in my head. :-p So yes, I rarely get tan...so usually I have butt-white legs and arms. It's so beautiful. *smirk*
Feelings on abortion: I would never have one- that I will say...but it's every woman's one choice with what she would do, it's up to them, absolutely.
Is Tupac alive?: NO. Let him die already and stop making albums for him! I swear, talk about trying to capitalize on something, sheesh.
What do you think of interacial couples (black and white): I don't have any
problem with it whatsoever. Love is love...no matter what form it comes in, what race, what gender, it does not matter -- love is a blessing and should never be taken for granted...or thrown away because people don't accept it. It's all about you and your happiness. It's kinda like what Sheryl Crow says: "If it makes you happy, it can't be that bad."
What does your screen name mean?: Oh gosh... if you really wanna know, look
in the dictionary. I still think I missed the mark on my screenname- I shoulda chosen "wapati" which means "little white rump." LOL!
Who do you most admire?: Hmm... honestly... I really admire Stacie. She's just an amazing, smart, Godly woman. I love that she's my "sister" and my mentor and my friend and so much more. I love that I have her in my corner and that she knows basically everything there is to know about me, and still loves me anyways. She is absolutely amazing, and I can only hope to one day be like her.
Right, Left, or Ambidextrous?: Right.
What is on your mouse pad?: Just my mouse. lol, for once. But I have a lot of crap on my desk, lol.
What is under your bed?: My New Kids on the Block dolls! LOL... with the
Barbie Ferrari and their Barbie friends! ;) *cough* And some dinosaurs... *cough* WHAT?! I can't part with them! They're a part of my childhood! LOL. ;) I know, I know... I'll have to part with them when I move out, but still...maybe I can keep them here at the house. lol, my parents have even space here, they can keep 'em. *cough*
How many licks does it take to get to the center of a Tootsie pop?: *smirk* Wouldn't really know...I don't really like Tootsie pops because I don't like Tootsie rolls.
