Okay, so that's not Joslyn. :-p That's Nina, Missy's littlest sister. And this was the lovely, small waiting room that we all hung out in for many hours during the labor process. I got very tired of that room, lemme tell ya. :-p
The first picture we took after Joslyn was born. As soon as they were put into the maternity ward, my parents and I were able to go in and take some pictures. This is of course the mother Missy and her baby.
*smiles* The first time my mom got to hold Joslyn. I think she was both in a fog and absolutely happy. She got no sleep the night before - even when we went home for like 3 hours to sleep - so she was a bit out of it. But nothing was taking away from her first grandchild moment, that's for sure.
A fuzzy close-up of the baby. There are clearer ones later, but of course I can't resist putting up all the pictures and being a proud aunt dammit. ;)
Missy being amused by a story my mom was telling about Keith while holding da baby.
Hehe, my mom's loopiness is showing a bit in this picture, as well as her utter glee, lol. ;)
Now...there was a HIDEOUS picture of me holding Joslyn before this but I refused to put it up. Julie got to see the hideousness and that was enough. :-p I swear, you would think I didn't know how to hold a baby. It'd been so long, I had her resting on TOP of my breasts and I just looked hideous from lack of sleep too. So instead, we get nice, peaceful, can't tell that the baby is still on top of her breasts Keri. Of course, now you know that she is, but that's beside the point. You know I can't keep my mouth shut about something embarrassing. But I'm not about to show you the proof. :-p But in all seriousness, this was the first time I got to hold Joslyn... I must say it was amazing. I... I'm kind of speechless, to be honest with you. It was different than when I held Claire. I feel much more protective of Joslyn, even more loving of her. I guess this is what it feels like to be an aunt. :)
Here's a couple of pictures of my dad holding Joslyn for the first time. It's so weird to see my dad holding a baby, and he's so non-chalant about it of course. Like it's just another baby or something. :-p But I know deep down somewhere in there, there's a sense of pride and love going on. I'm truly glad that he is able to see his first grandchild...as things have of course been touch and go with him for a few years now. This was an important moment for him and I'm glad he was able to be here.
Here's my dad and Keith looking adoringly down at Joslyn. Check out those fingers of Joslyn's -- they're super long. She got that from Missy's side of the family that's for sure...as all of us have small hands and fingers. It's a family trait, hehe.
Joslyn started crying and acting up, and I thought this picture was adorable of my dad trying to calm her down. :)
lol, we were trying to get a family picture of the three of them together, but Joslyn was NOT a happy camper and screaming her head off. Which I think is always amusing in a picture. WAH!!!!!!!!!! lol ;)
*smiles* The proud papa and his girl. Keith literally has started calling Missy and Joslyn "his two girls" and gives them a kiss each time. I must admit, seeing Keith through all of this has truly been heartwarming. I've even seen him tear up a few times from such joy. I always knew he was going to be amazing with Joslyn and so far it's proven to be true. He's so gentle with her. It's nice, I'm seeing a new side of my brother and I like it. I think it's softening him up some.
Family portrait. :) My dad set his camera up (all spiffy with its timer) and we got a family picture together. Of course a few of us look loopy due to the timer (myself included), but oh well. It's cute dangit. :-p
Joslyn was born around 8am in the morning on September 5th...so all those pictures were from early in the morning. After that, we took my dad home and got a nap...and then my mom and I came back later that night to be with them again. The drive didn't matter those few days, over and over again, we just wanted to see our little girl. :) I like this picture of Keith and Joslyn because you can actually see her a bit better while before she was all covered up. LOL, my favorite part is how GRUMPY Joslyn looks most of the time. Her cute angry little face. ADORABLE. Love it. lol
Two pictures of my second time holding Joslyn. One closer up than the other (I like the close-up one better). :) I look a little more rested after my 2 hour nap, but I'm still having that rolled out of bed look, lol. Joslyn on the other hand is looking beautiful as always. :)
My mom is looking very beautiful and happy in this picture. :) She at first gave me a "huh" kind of smile but I told her to really smile, then she dazzled and I got this great shot. I love this picture of them together. I should get it blown up and framed for her. :)
lol, an example of her loopy "huh" smile she first gave me...and then gave me a second time in this picture. I tried to get her to dazzle again but the loopiness was back for good. ;)
Missy somehow looking good after giving birth. I don't even think she took that much pain medication afterwards...just like one Tylenol. Craziness.
*cough* I told you I was putting up all the pictures, I didn't care if some of them looked the same or not. :-p Hehe, these are the pictures I say look like Joslyn's been smacked around or something, she's all bruised and swollen from the birth and looking grumpy as ever, lol. ;) These pictures were taken the next day, when unfortunately I was off at work and only my mom went out to see them. I tried to get off a hour earlier (and just not take a lunch) but Borders wouldn't work with me, which I was kinda pissed about. :-p So I didn't get to see her at all this day since my hours were right smackdab in the middle of the hospital visiting hours.
Screaming her bloody head off, hee! ;)
Okay, seriously in this picture? She looks exactly like our family's side. Seriously. She is a spitting image of Keith as a baby...and even of me. It's crazy. It almost feels like you're looking into a little mirror of your family when you look at her. lol, plus she looks a lot like my mom here when my mom's sleeping...same exact mouth. I swear. ;)
Missy and Joslyn with some sunlight on them apparently.
I have to admit...this last one is such a beautiful picture. I see that one being blown up and framed. It's just gorgeous. Missy was posing with Joslyn for a picture and she literally fell asleep holding her. She must have really been tired, 'cause it was quick according to my mom and Keith. He took these pictures of them together. Really beautiful.
Da baby and her over-sized diaper and chicken legs! lol, at least she didn't get my thunder thighs...lucky, lucky girl. I came out with thunder thighs and never got rid of 'em. Poor me. lol ;)
This is from Friday night after Keith and Missy took Joslyn home. We went over for about an hour to spend some time with all of them. After we sat down and were handed Joslyn, my dad got this picture of my mom, Joslyn, and I. Notice: Keri is looking much cuter in these pictures. No more rolled out of bed, hideous looking type of thing going on. :-p I was determined to look cute after looking so horrible the day she was born, lol. :-p
Here's Joslyn sticking her tongue out for us. And Keri's boobie. 'Cause I know you're all so interested in a close-up. :-p lol
I took this one of my dad and Joslyn...I really, really like this one. He looks more with it too in this picture, I think we all look more with it actually, lol. I purposely didn't use a flash because I liked the warm tones without it. :)
*laughs* My mom incredibly happy again. Nothing seems to make this woman happier than holding her granddaughter, I swear. :)
I got to hold the baby a lot this day because of the fact that I had no time with her the day before. My mom kept giving her up to me so I could hold her, which I was all too happy about. But then I'd feel bad and try to give Joslyn back to my mom. ;) I really do love holding her.
Blurry baby peach fuzz! :-p
This is a blurry one, but it was of Nina sticking her tongue through the holes of her mouth 'cause she just lost a tooth as we were there; she was very excited about losing that tooth.
Here's a sequence of a stretching Joslyn! I love the one of her smiling as she's stretching. She was all moving around a lot when I was holding her, it was so cute. Stretching her little arms out, which look like paddles because of the mittens on her hands, lol. A few times it almost looked like she was trying to hit me with her paddles. ;)
And lastly, of her going to sleep before we left for the day. :) That may be it for now, but trust me, I'm sure I'll have more soon enough. If I somehow get there despite working most of the week. We saw her today and have a couple from that, but I don't have 'em uploaded or anything yet, so this is all I got. And don't worry, new page next time as I know this one is loaded up! :)
