My Fool

I never used to think of you as a fool
But when you walk past me with your head held high
With nothing but stones in your eyes
I can't help but look at you the way I do.

I used to only listen through your thoughts
And only peer through your green clouds-
Singing your song, feeling so proud-
But I've come to realize it was a dream I sought...

But I do notice the light you brought to my life
If only for awhile, this smile was awakened by the night
To this blind soul, you brought sight
A calming breeze amongst my strife.

But that was so long ago
Those things are now only my memories
Yet I'd still be a call away, if you ever please-
Still, no need to tell you- you'd know.

Well, I never used to think of you as a fool
But I've been able to see through eyes that convince me otherwise
There's a fire in them that only grows, that doesn't die
And sees me for who I truly am, too.

You see, I never used to think of you as a fool...
It's a shame -- but now I do.
