How I let my words get away from me
Nonetheless, there they lay-
I'm my own price to pay.
I am
Not too attractive to my own eyes
Yet here I am-
Surrounded by hearts filled with love for me-
And utterly lonely
Without you
On this Solstice Eve.
That escaped through these lips uncontrollably
Nonetheless, there they lay-
They remain in my way.
I am
None too proud of myself
Yet here I am-
Being complimented by loved ones who are-
And I'm hardly up to par
Without you
On this Solstice Eve.
I thought you and I were supposed to last
Nonetheless, here we lay-
Torn and heartbroken on such a special day.
We are
Inconsolable-
Despite the affection being showered down-
As smiles sit upon our frowns...
