I want somebody to share my world with
I want somebody to feel at home in the role of my "best friend"
I want somebody who cares for me tenderly
For this friend will know the greatest truth of friendship

To share those thoughts searching for a voice
To share the rhymes forming in my heart
Share myself with.
I want someone who'll listen to me
And take notice that I care about the words I say.
She'll hear me out
And if she disagrees,
She'll proceed with care-
Gently revealing to me a new view.
But at the end of it all,
She'll still be there
Understanding why I feel the way I do.
To know where she belongs-
All the while, assuring me I'm where I belong too.
I want someone who'll stand by my side
And support me when no one else sees a reason to
But she sees a reason-
And that reason alone is me.
Even when I've lost my way,
She'll remain steadfast and true
Her light of loyalty will shine through-
Will pierce its way into my heart
And guide me back home
To who I truly am.
Who is not afraid to be affectionate
And will be pleased when I shower her with hugs and love
Someone who won't be taken back if I even kiss her
Because she'll understand why I do the things I do.
I want someone who will be honest with me
Who won't hold back the truth even when it hurts
And realizes that secrets and lies are the weeds
In this garden of a friendship we sow.
She'll water the flowers
And watch in satisfaction when they bloom.
Will know it takes some watering and weeding
To develop the kind of devotion that's endless.
And she'll know I'd never leave her alone
She'll always feel loved
Feel appreciated
Feel understood
And know she's special in these eyes.
For I'd dive headfirst into this ocean of love
And not surface until my last breath.
