[3] “Holland” is a rather loose description of this missionary’s area of operations. He was based in Utrecht (outside what later became the County of Holland), but he preached across the area now known
as Noord and Zuid Holland. However, all this territory was then in the hands of
the Frisians, not the Low Franks or Dutch, as they are now known.
