Australia warns against travel to Indonesia
The Australian Department of Foreign Affairs has issued a fresh travel warning for
Indonesia.
Although the advice hasn't been upgraded, the department has added international
food outlets to a list of places where Australians have been urged to exercise extreme
caution.
It says Australians in Indonesia should be cautious in places of worship, office
buildings, shopping centres and upmarket entertainment areas.
The warning comes as the Australian Government moves to boost security at its
overseas embassies, while considering relocating some missions in high-risk
locations.
Canberra has already confirmed it will relocate the Australian embassy in Manila,
which was closed last month because of fears of a terrorist attack.
The government is also considering relocating three other missions in the Middle East
and Southeat Asia.
