Militia leader wins Indonesian court case
An Indonesian court has found a former Islamic militia leader, Jafar Umar Thalib, not
guilty of inciting violence during a Muslim-Christian conflict in the Maluku islands.
Supporters of Mr Thalib cheered as judges at an East Jakarta court found the former
Laskar Jihad leader not guilty of three charges.
They included inciting violence, inciting hatred against the government and defaming
the president and vice-president.
