Four killed in boat accident in eastern Indonesia
JAKARTA (JP): Huge waves sunk a passenger boat at sea in eastern Indonesia on
Friday, killing four women on board, AP reported.
The "Emanuel" was carrying 20 passengers and crew members when it went down in
the Banda Sea close to Saparua island, said Endi Watimena, a nurse on Saparua
island who treated some of the survivors.
Fishermen managed to save all the other people on board, he said.
Fatal accidents at sea are common in Indonesia,a vast archipelago where much
traveling is done by boat.
