Two killed in Ambon brawl
JAKARTA (JP): Two people were killed, 18 injured and several houses destroyed in a
brawl between two villages in Ambon, Maluku on Monday, Antara reported.
According to Maluku Police Chief Brig. Gen. Bambang Sutrisno, the brawl broke out
at around 3:00a.m.
He did not elaborate but said that the situation was under control.
Ambon is the scene of some of the worst civil conflicts between Christians against
Muslims these last three years. The conflict started on Idul Fitri Day in January 1999.
