X-Men:
Evolution, the new animated series, is being targeted to begin Saturday,
Nov. 4 on the Kids' WB!.
Tentative plans are for
five new episodes to run starting on Nov. 4, followed by the rest of the
first-season's new episodes likely during the February and May sweeps
next year.
X-Men: Evolution will air
at 11:30 a.m. (ET) on Saturdays on Kids' WB!
Marvel carried a poster
for the series at its booth at the Comic-Con International in San Diego.
It featured Professor Xavier, Jean Grey, Cyclops, Wolverine,
Nightcrawler, Rogue and Storm on the front.
Here's how the TV series
is described on the back of the poster:
"X-Men: Evolution,
based on the popular Marvel Comics band of superheroes, is the story of
a small group of adolescents who have reached puberty and are uncertain
and frightened by the changes overtaking their bodies. They are the
world's new mutants โค| and Professor Charles Xavier is the one man
who can identify them, train them to control their special abilities and
unite them to defend the Earth. The series will include a new character
and follow the six teens whose powers are entwined with personal
weaknesses they must overcome. Bound together by strangeness, they join
forces to defend a world that fears them โค| this is the dawn of
X-Men."
The new character is
Spyke, a mutant whose powers are similar to those of Marrow from the
comics.
Rick Ungar and Avi Arad
are listed as executive producers, with Boyd Kirkland as producer. The
series is a co-production of Marvel and Film Roman.
The back of the poster
featured mug shots of the previously mentioned characters, as well as
Kitty Pryde, Mystique, Toad and Sabretooth. |
