Jim Falls Elementary in Wisconsin
Our school is called Jim Falls Elementary and is part of the
Chippewa Falls Unified School District in West Central WI. Our school is
the smallest in our district. There are 108 students and 18 staff
members in our school. There are six classrooms; kindergarten through
fifth and there are 5 boys and 11 girls in our class. Most students
ride the bus to school.
Our community is a small town called Jim Falls. It is in the
country. Most students live in houses with big yards. We can ride our
bikes and play outside. In Jim Falls there is a volunteer fire
department, a dairy that makes cheese, a gas station/store, a library, a
school, two churches, a town hall, a post office and a large statue
honoring Old Abe the Civil War Eagle. The closest hospital is St.
Joseph's hospital in Chippewa Falls about 7 miles away. Our nearest
airport is about 30 miles away in Eau Claire, but not many planes come
there. The closest BIG airport is 100 miles away in Minneapolis, MN.
There are two outdoor ice skating rinks nearby and a roller skating
rink close to Eau Claire. In the summer there is an outdoor pool and
water slide in Chippewa Falls that many of us enjoy going to.
There are alot of open spaces and alot of trees near our community.
The landscape is hilly and also flat. There are large areas of woods
where bears, deer, birds, coyotes, rabbits, squirrels, and lots of other
animals live. We see many bald eagles near Jim Falls and sometimes they
fly over our playground.
Kids is our class like to go for walks in the woods with their
families, go ice-skating, build snow sculptures, jumprope, go
snow-mobiling, and nine of the students in our class have been to the
Mall of America and Camp Snoopy.
We are proud of our school and our community . We hope you
enjoyed
learning about it.
