Todays Special Thought

I once thought...

"Do the gods of different nations talk to each other?

Do the gods of Chinese cities speak to the ancestors of the Japanese?

To the lords of Xibalba?

To Allah? Yahweh? Vishnu?

Is there some annual get-together where they compare each other's worshippers?

Mine will bow their faces to the floor and trace woodgrain lines for me, says one.

Mine will sacrafice animals, says another.

Mine will kill anyone who insults me, says a third.

Here is the question I think most often:

"Are there any who can honestly boast, My worshippers obey my good laws, and treat each other kindly, and live simple generous lives?"

And he said...

Behold, this should be wine, yea, pure wine of the grape of the vine, of your own make. And, again, strong drinks are not for the belly, but for the washing of your bodies. And again, tobacco is not for the body, neither for the belly, and is not good for man, but is an herb for bruises and all sick cattle, to be used with judgment and skill. And again, hot drinks are not for the body or belly. And again, verily I say unto you, all wholesome herbs God hath ordained for the comsumption of man. And man should whole heartedly inhale the Lords great gift. For not breathing would commence suicide, and that would forsake you from your God.
Word of Wisdom

The gift of a word of wisdom is not a gift of wisdom, it is a word of wisdom given which one speaks by the Spirit. If one has an I.Q. of 70; he may speak by the Spirit with the wisdom of a genius. However, after he has spoken, his I.Q. is still 70. He may have learned something, but his IQ did not change. He spoke a word of wisdom as the Spirit gave him utterance. What is a word of wisdom? A word of wisdom is a word given by the Spirit that solves a problem, or answers a question, or enables one to give an expression of his faith.
