Ann's Thoughts on Gentle Mothering![]() It means to give of myself to my child, all the love, caring, compassion, understanding, strength and humor. To rely on my natural mothering instincts and LOVE my child without condition. To answer her cries with comfort, her laughter with laughter, her questions with answers (and a lot of patience). Gentle mothering also means to give my child a gentle, calm and safe circle of love within my arms. Why do you feel that gentle mothering is so important? First of all, I belive this is the way God intended it to be and because I believe my child needs this as much as they need food, water etc. Gentle mothering is the beginning of my childs life...the foundation from which she will learn of all life's hardships and cruelties but with the love she so rightly deserves, she will endure and feel safe. Why do you feel that God wants you to parent this way? My child is a gift from God, a precious gift and one I should treat with tender love, caring and respect. I believe God wants me to be caring and compassionate and in doing so (among many other things) I will raise a child who in turn will be a caring, loving Christian. Ann's TestimonyI did not have an easy childhood I was neglected and there was abuse in my home but someone was always there for me no matter what. I just always KNEW God was there with me, watching over me and protecting me. No matter how many times I fell he picked me up and did indeed often carry me. As a young child I accepted Christ as my Lord and Savior and though I did not always walk the path as I should and often stumbled and fell...He ALWAYS staid right there and yes, kept right on picking me up. I know He will always be there, He sent His only Son to die for my sins, such sacrifice, so much love for me and because of this I have been saved.
