Jo Clark![]() Jo's Thoughts on Gentle Mothering![]() Gentle mothering means meeting this child's needs in a way that reflects understanding of their abilities and sensitivity to their feelings. Why do you feel that gentle mothering is so important? From experience, I know that punishment leads to resentment and low self esteem. Lack of discipline and parental attention also lead to low self esteem and lack of self discipline. The Bible tells us often what blessings children are and I believe we need to treat them as such. Why do you feel that God wants you to parent this way? From reading the Bible.
Jo's TestimonyI know that I am saved because Jesus died for my sins. I am not worthy of anything, but through God's grace salvation is mine. I wasn't "saved" by having an emotional experience. It was more gradual. I was raised in church and have always attended, but it wasn't always a vital part of my life. That has happened over the years as I studied the Bible and thought about God's word. I still have weak moments when I forget to pray, and intense moments when I'm completely overwhelmed with God's love, and I expect that will be the case all of my life.
