Julie's Thoughts on Gentle Mothering

[small logo] What does gentle mothering mean to you? It is listening to your GOD-GIVEN instincts in meeting your child's needs, not to a book or so-called "expert" who will tell you that time away from your child will create in him an independence that provides security when you're not around. It is understanding that a child does not understand the concept of manipulation as a baby, and crying is the only means of communication it does understand. Consequently, a response to their crying should be prompt. It is important because I believe parents are their childrens' example of Christ- He does not let us "cry it out" when we are hurt, cold, hungry or lonely- He meets our needs when we cry out to Him. I want my son to know that just as Mommy will respond to his needs as best I can, he has a Heavenly Father Who will meet his needs more perfectly that I ever could.

Julie's Testimony

I came to know the Lord on February 13, 1995, during a tumultuous time in life- parents divorcing, being in a bad relationship, etc. I had been attending church for a while, and it just "sunk in" one night that I was a sinner in desperate need of His salvation.
