Laurie's Thoughts on Gentle Mothering![]() Gentle Mothering means that I listen to my child and respond to her needs in a respectful and loving way. For me this includes extended nursing, lots of affection and touching, sleeping with my daughter, good/whole nutrition, and responding to my daughter's cries. Why do you feel that gentle mothering is so important? I feel like God has given me the instincts that I am following. I don't do it because I read it in a book, but because it just feels right. Why do you feel that God wants you to parent this way? God gave me the instincts that I listen to when I care for my daughter. I know how much God loves me, and I can't imagine Him wanting me treat my daughter any differently than he would treat me, which is with the utmost love, care and respect. Laurie's TestimonyI've been blessed to have been raised by loving, Christian parents. I remember being about three or four years old, as I came into my mom's room crying and filled with emotion, saying that I wanted to accept Jesus in my heart. I know that I am saved because of the grace that God gave us through His son, Jesus....I certainly don't deserve it, but that's what grace is all about!
