Marm's Thoughts on Gentle Mothering

Gentle mothering means listening to my child with my ears, eyes, and heart. It means knowing who my child is, her personality, needs, fears etc., and serving her according to who she is as God has made her.

I feel gentle mothering is important because we as mothers (and fathers) are mirrors to our children as to who the Father in heaven is. It is vital to teach our children through our love and devotion, so that they learn to trust and grow to be secure and confident in relationships.

I feel God wants me to parent this way because this is how HE parents me. He has called us to relationship, a relationship of love and trust. He has called us to obedience through the relationship we have with Him, one based in love and security, not fear, anger, or control. I believe God wants me to teach this foundation to my children, through parenting as HE does.

Marms's Testimony

I was raised in a Christian home. I made Jesus my savior when I was 10 yrs old. As I graduated from high school, I made Him LORD, I made a solid commitment to Jesus, and gave him free reign over my life. I had always desired to marry, have a strong Christian home, and a wonderful family. God has blessed me with all of these things, as I allowed HIM to lead me to my life mate. We continue to serve the Lord Jesus daily.
