At 17 mile beach we caught plenty of smaller fish such as darts, a banded sweep and stripey sea perch.
The stripey sea perch was very tasty.
The most important thing about 17 mile beach is that it was where we caught our first fish of the trip...and I caught it! That fairly cheesed the blokes off. (Even though it was a tiny thing!)
We had to let the tyres down on the Jackaroo at 17 mile so if your going there don't bother without a 4WD or you'll be in for a long walk to the beach.
The 4WDriving there is really good. There is a big sandy basin which provides for good entertainment. |
