South Wall
South Wall was the first place that we balloon fished. We would obviously have prefered North Wall but it had been taken well before we got there, even though we did arrive before sunrise. The day we went to South wall was the day that we saw the biggest swell. The waves were coming right up over the cliffs. You had to remind yourself to watch the ocean continuously when you were near the edge. We didn't catch anything at South Wall but it was worth it just for the waves!!

A couple of big waves crashing behind the Jackaroo. Remember that these cliffs are about 20m high. There is a big cheese grater at the base of the cliffs so don't get swept in!!

See that metal picket at the right of the photo? Someone suggested that it would be a good spot to fish from. The next minute a wave came from the side and engulfed the whole area. Definately not a good place to fish. It's not hard to see how so many people have lost their lives here. (I apologise for that depressing thought)
