LITTLE FAIRY

SLEEPING DOG

A Sleeping Child

by Kimber Giedd

I think I love you most at night
When sleep has taken your day
All the laughter, anger and joy
From your face hs faded away.

Your head rest gently on a pillow
Angelic in sleeps soft repose
I brush your hair back from your face,
Kiss you gently on your nose.

The anger at your naughty deeds
Done at such a hectic pace
All are gone at the end of day
Looking at your sleep sweet face.

During the day we run and play
Your never quiet or still
Sitting on the edge of your bed
Is when I feel my heart swell

I softly whisper in your ear
I love you and sleep tight
Sometimes you asnwer back at me
I love you Mommy, good night.

Sometimes I want to wake you up
And talk in sleep filled whispers
To talk of unicorns and rainbows
And dream up Santa Claus wishes.

Instead I give you one last kiss
And tuck you in warm and tight.
I think of tomorrow with a sigh
I think I love you most at night.
